A Lung Health Study

Welcome to this lung health research study which is taking place at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is important to help better lung health for all.

It is an observational study about lung health, no trial medicines are involved.

The study is called 'SCOPE-COPD (which stands for Systematic characterisation of pre-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) & COPD Observational Cohort Study).'

Are you interested in taking part in medical research?

This is a clinical research study where if you decide to take part along with about 280 other people, will help us better understand how lung health changes over time and how COPD develops and progresses.

This is where your involvement comes in.

Whats Involved

The study will involve a lung screening visit which involves a lung function assessment and blood test as well as medical history check to see if you are eligible to enter the research study.

If you are, there are assessments involved such as lung function tests, CT scans, and a bronchoscopy in a smaller group of volunteers who are happy to have this test done.

You will be compensated for your participation in the study.
